Swarovski's CL Pocket 10x25 and 8x25 are overlooked by the serious ultra light back country traveler. I (Terry Kramer) have packed a CL 10x25 (and the previous generation) on every backpacking, backcountry skiing and back country hunt for the past 25 years. The optics are clear, crisp, and the center-to edge-to-edge focus meets Swarovski standards. You do sacrifice a small amount of light gathering and field of view, but that is offset by 12.3 ounces total weight! I have never been disappointed, except it was not mountable to a tripod.
That problem has been solved. The RRS-M3 attaches to the center bridge section of the CL Pocket, and provides access to the focus and diopter controls. It folds without any interference, and still will slip into a shirt pocket.
Put this on top of a Granite Peak or a 3L/V2 combo, and you have lightest, serious tripod glass system on the planet!
The mount is CNC machined from 6061-T651 aluminum. A difficult part to manufacture, but thanks to the capabilities of a 5 axis CNC mill, it is reality. Simple in design and execution.
